Handcrafted Jewelry – Fashion Redefined

Jewelry of any kind makes a fashion statement. But the fashion statement can be made more interesting by the choice of jewelry. Through ages, jewelry has been a symbol fashion and romance. Wearing a beautiful piece of jewelry is always an addition that seems to complete the dressing for any special occasion. The choice of jewelry varies from person to person. Some like wearing diamonds, while others might like simple and elegant chain and pendant. Different people have different tastes and to meet the demands of the wide market, there are varieties of products today – some with semi-precious stones while others, equally ravishing.

Everybody wants to own some piece of jewelry. But nobody likes wearing a common ornament. Imagine buying a new exquisite jewelry for some special occasion and finding out that the same thing is being worn by five others on the day. So along with exquisite styles, the demand for uniqueness is also growing. Unique and personalized jewelry are often more in demand than its counterparts. Uniqueness has its own value and hence the demand for trendy, stylish yet one of a kind jewelry is huge.

To meet this demand, handcrafted jewelry is probably the perfect choice. These jewelries are often personalized and unique. They have a wide variety of styles and are best to meet the demands of different individuals with varied tastes and preferences. Be it rings, earrings, necklaces, pendants or bracelets, handcrafted jewelry adds a different touch. The special ones are those which have personalized messages and romantic poems engraved on them. These personalizations make the handcrafted jewelries unique and reflect individual styles. Irrespective of an individual’s choice for elegance and specific color combinations or something bright and sassy that will really draw a lot of attention, these original and unique pieces of jewelry are probably the best choice for anyone who loves to be different.

Once considered funky and targeted to a limited market, the handcrafted jewelry has come a long way to become the latest buzz in the fashion mainstream. It has been re-invented as artisan jewelry and it appeals to a broader market of affluent buyers attracted to its uniqueness and limited availability. As an article of ostentation or for sending across a message of love and passion, personalized handcrafted jewelry has no substitutes. It can even be easily available through online stores, customized with one’s own message or poems and still highlight one’s style statement in a way that would not go unnoticed. The arrival of handcrafted jewelry trends with all these exclusive benefits has really redefined fashion in the present day.

Pearl Jewelry ( A New Fashion ) : From Unreachable Treasure to

Nowadays with the introduction of pearl cultivation, people don't depend on hunting natural pearls any more, but raise our own pearls! The pearls cultivated by humans are called cultured pearls. During the development of this technology, people have concluded that water quality and temperature, season, oyster and seeding are the important factors to produce high quality pearls. Pearls have become not only valuable but also affordable.

A good pearl designer always looks for people's interests. When they notice that more and more people start paying much attention to pearls, their inspiration can lead to varied creations. If you open a fashion magazine, you can easily find pearls on sexy models and fake or real pearls as small decorations on clothes, handbags, scarf or belts. Pearls have become a new fashion in modern times again.

The incredible variety of pearl colors, shapes, sizes, and types offer people to choose unique pearl jewelry. Currently there’s especially great interest in baroque pearls and the “new” pearl shapes such as petals, coins, and squares.

Pearl jewelry is a hot commodity in Hollywood these days.

Due to the high value of pearls, designers still use them mostly in jewelry, but the design has been changed so much from old days. Everyone knows a modern fashionable word "globalization". fashion is going global. Now pearls are also going “global”. Pearls are not by themselves any more, they are getting mixed with all other kinds of gemstones, metals, and any possible jewelry. The idea of this trend is not only for them to suit formal occasions, but also suit all kinds of circumstances, all ages, status, and classes. The prices of pearl jewelry also vary widely from a few dollars to more than thousands dollars according to the quality and design.

Pearl Jewelry has changed from a rare unaffordable treasure to a mainstream in fashion.

Bold jewelry is in fashion now

After several seasons of dangling delicate charms and chains from necks and wrists, women are making stronger statements through their jewelry, donning dramatic pieces that stand on their own.

For the longest time, "everything was so minimalist, it seemed almost vulgar to have stones," says Alison Burwell, jewelry news editor for W magazine. But the wispy layers of late "have given women the confidence to try bolder looks." Witness the red carpets recently: At this year's Oscars, stars such as Nicole Kidman strutted earring-free but with double bracelets, Wonder Woman-style.

Los Angeles-based jeweler Cathy Waterman, whose designs have graced Gwyneth Paltrow and Charlize Theron, has been adding attention-commanding cuffs, 3 and 4 inches wide, to her collection. "What you adorn yourself with is an expression of yourself," says Waterman, who finds that many of her clients are buying baubles for their own jewelry boxes. "And it's such a great sign that women are wanting pieces larger and more powerful, because it can only mean that we're feeling better about ourselves."

Also aiding the chunky choker trend: fashion's flirtation with "big, open spaces" across the chest, says Kim Renk, co-owner of New York-based costume jeweler Sequin. Think V-necks, scoop necks and cowl necks.

Considering their per piece impact, less is more for this trend, Burwell cautions: "You don't want to have so many statements that they start conflicting."

Precious Fashion: Jewellery collection today and forever

Undoubtedly, the cost of such beauty is high. However, when purchasing gold or silver ware from the last ultra-stylish collection, one may be sure to get a «friend» for ages. The jewellery world has its own view upon fashion. Neither diamonds, sapphires nor emeralds have time limits. The same with goods, made of these precious stones: they don’t ever wear out or go out of fashion, but just the reverse – become more unique, expensive each year and always maintain in requisition. At the same time even the most conservative jewellers from time to time phase in fresh ideas into their classic collections’ design. Our task is to catch them!

Let’s begin our review, certainly, with GOLD. Epidemic demand for White Gold, which was on its way for the last few years, is gradually diminishing. According to Baselworld’s – Watch and Jewellery Saloon – survey results, the most fashionable precious metal is Pink Gold. This Saloon holds its collections’ demonstrations in Switzerland annually in spring. And almost all Jewellery Brands presented their new Collections, which are carried out just in pink. But there’s no reason for conservatives’ agitation – both yellow and white gold are still in great demand. Keen on bright colors and anxious for something unusual ? Then Korloff offers unique technology especially for you: Varnishing Gold with specific colorful Lacquer. 14 colors, included in the collection, always allow you to select particularly your hue.

Leading positions among precious stones three centuries ago took Diamonds. And they still do! In addition to that their colored variations are back in fashion: yellow (Roberto Coin), blue and even black (such jewellery-houses as Iosi Scavia, Luca Carati, Stephan Haffner and de Grisogono use them in their production). Though the majority of customers continue to opt for classic, limpid stones.

As for combination of Diamonds with other Precious Stones, there is a wide range of variations. Most collections could be fairly called conservative, designed for luxurious evening dresses. And in this case, as far as jewelers are concerned, semiprecious stones are not appropriate and, certainly, are inferior to Diamonds and Sapphires. An unbelievable palette of hues was enabled in one of the last collections of Bvlgari High Jewellery: colors varied from blue with blueness, pink with gently-pink and green to yellow and purple. Yet in comparison with the previous collection – Allegra, where we have already seen such palette, but with the use of absolutely different stones (tourmalines, topazes, quartzes and amethysts), this presented collection is marked with colors combinations of only one precious stone – sapphire. At the Jewellery-house Korloff mostly «Royal» materials are used in making their works: designers insist, the design itself is so unique that there is no sense in making it cheaper by the utilization of semiprecious stones.

At the same time many brands, de Grisogono for instance, do not avoid and approve of semiprecious stones’ use and offer various combinations of turquoise, corrals with sapphires and diamonds. Pearls incrusted with diamonds have also reached fashionable pike. One may as well easily find stylish and not so glaringly luxurious furnishings: topaz, amethyst, tourmaline and aquamarine were also added to the list of the most present-day semiprecious stones.

Talking about shape, furnishings are mainly massive and large in size. As concerns Pendants, these are round and flat medallions, more than 2 inches in diameter with a huge stone mounting (Di Modolo Milano, Korloff). They perfectly decorate low-cut décolleté – so fashionable this season.

A chain of footprints is a basic motive of the new Pasquale Bruni collection – Orme. It contains Rings and Pendants in the foot-shape. Magnificent diamonds light up cascades of blossomed out white flowers in Ghirlanda romantic furnishings of the same brand. Bvlgari also keeps up the flower theme in the collection Sapphire Flower, the main image of which is a flower with 5 sapphire petals and a small diamond in the middle.

Cartier in his works continues to develop animalistic trend in the jewellers’ art. Last year he brought to life the next series of his traditional panthers – La Panthere de Cartier. However, the most present-day furnishings are introduced in the shape of intricate twisted net – «lace» – where one with a touch of vivid imagination can see silhouettes of different animals and birds. (Tiffany & Co, Korloff).

In spite of fresh ideas and innovations, the jewellers’ art fashion is also shown in a wide variety of stones’ cuttings. All methods are far from being new; it is the fact, that just some of them were not used very often. One of the last Bvlgari collections – Rosette made of colored sapphires – received its name from the means of precious stones’ cuttings. Cutting in the shape of «rose» is one the most ancient methodics of stones’ cut. It allows collecting great number of stones into unlimited quantity of fanciful combinations and making unbelievable effect of kaleidoscope. Chopard introduced a very woman-like collection Copacabana, almost all the stones in which have the most present-day cutting «briolette». Korloff offers a unique cutting «Korloff cut» of 65 facets, for which he owns a patent. This method adds miraculous shine to diamonds, which are not very attractive stones in the first place: stones start to blaze thanks to gradual increase in facets’ size and reflection’s flatness.

On the whole, let alone total conservatism in the world of jewellers’ art, fashion offers us many furnishings’ variations this season. It is interesting, that nowadays’ trends repeat fashionable tendencies of the last century: same heavy brooches, pendants, necklaces, decorated with butterflies, dragonflies and flowers. In the long run it proves again, that jewellery is not going out of fashion!

Hot Trend in Fashion Jewelry

jewellery jewellery

Turquoise jewellery

Turquoise jewelry is making a comeback in all parts of the fashion world. Runway models sport the ancient stone especially as large chunky beads, earrings or large rings, everyday working women can be seen on subways and walking around town accessories with turquoise jewelry. Turquoise may have deep rooted history as an ancient spiritual stone, but it is hot and in fashion now.

If you are flipping through magazines looking for the latest celebrity fashion must haves, you will see all the stars wearing the Mystic Fire Topaz Ring and Toe Ring. Mystic fire topaz may look like a galactic ring from outer space but its rainbow kaleidoscope of colors is actually a neutral topaz stone that has been altered by a coloring process of metal coding with atoms. Pretty fascinating- as the stars will tell you, nothing like it exist in nature –and for some reason, not a lot in L.A. does either.

Silver Link Bracelet Jewellery
A Silver Link Bracelet is the piece to wear with just about everything. If you are looking for hot style and fashion, the silver link bracelet never goes out of style. Silver never goes out of fashion because it goes with everything and adds a little bit of shine as well.

The fashion jewelry trend sees a strong growth in colored Stone Jewelry Set in gold or silver to enhance every day wear to evening attire. Colored stone jewelry has a growing demand from tourmaline, yellow and purple sapphires to garnets. Peridot green and citrine remain ever popular to the fashion industry, as well as antique reproduction jewel
